Erlandson Piano Studio seeks to provide each student with piano lessons that are individually tailored, engaging, and fun; while developing a lifelong love for music and the arts.
In the studio, lessons are designed to fit ALL student's learning styles, age, and abilities. Students will receive a well-rounded education in music history, music theory, piano technique, and performance. The goal of teaching is to produce students who have deep knowledge, understanding, and appreciation for the piano and the performing arts. This is achieved through weekly lessons, group studio classes, and recitals twice a year.
Lessons are offered in 30 and 45-minute sessions. Students study piano literature, technique (scales, arpeggios, chords, etudes, and technical exercises), and theory within the lesson, in addition to review of their previous weekly assignment.
Group studio classes meet once per semester. These classes are essential to the development of well-rounded musicians and provide foundational knowledge of music (history and performance skills) that may not be covered during the normal lesson due to time constraints. Students will learn about composers, musical time periods and styles, music theory games, ear training exercises, and performance evaluation of their peers.
